Aber wie ich bereits erw\u00e4hnte, umfasst das alles. Bei der Beurteilung Israels und seiner Feinde wollen wir den Standard der Gerechtigkeit anwenden, der zu den liberalen Christen geh\u00f6rt, die \u00fcberaus kritisch zum j\u00fcdischen Staat sind, auf den sich oft\u00a0 berufen wird.<\/p>\n

Einerseits macht schon ein fl\u00fcchtiges Verst\u00e4ndnis der Geschichte der letzten 65plus Jahre deutlich, dass die Hindernisse f\u00fcr den Frieden nicht an Israel lagen, sondern an seinen Feinden. Und wenn man zu dem anhaltenden Konflikt mit den Pal\u00e4stinensern kommt, seien es sie, nicht die Israelis, die daf\u00fcr verantwortlich sind. (F\u00fcr diejenigen, die die sogenannte\u00a0 \u201cisraelische Besetzung\u201d f\u00fcr die pal\u00e4stinensischen Feindschaften verantwortlich machen, werde ich darauf hinweisen, wie schon fr\u00fcher, dass die PLO, die sich f\u00fcr die Zerst\u00f6rung Israels einsetzte, im Jahr 1964 gegr\u00fcndet wurde, drei Jahre bevor Israel das Westjordanland und Gaza kontrollierte. Au\u00dferdem sind die Kriege von 1948 und 1967 gegen Israel geschehen, bevor die \u201cbesetzten Gebiete\u201c und Ansiedlungen jemals ein Problem geworden sind. Und in Gaza im Jahr 2005 hat Israel getan, was keine andere Nation, einschlie\u00dflich keiner arabischen Nation, jemals vorher getan hat: die Pal\u00e4stinenser mit der M\u00f6glichkeit der Selbstverwaltung unterst\u00fctzt. Seit der Schaffung Israels in der ersten H\u00e4lfte des letzten Jahrhunderts ist kein einziger pal\u00e4stinensischer F\u00fchrer bereit oder f\u00e4hig gewesen, eine Kultur zu ver\u00e4ndern, die Hass auf Juden sch\u00fcrt und die Ausrottung Israels verteidigt. Bis sich das \u00e4ndert, gibt es keine M\u00f6glichkeit f\u00fcr den Frieden oder die Gerechtigkeit. Die Pal\u00e4stinenser m\u00fcssen tun, was sie sich bis jetzt geweigert haben, zu tun: machen sie ihren eigenen inneren Frieden mit der Existenz eines j\u00fcdischen Staates. Dass sie das nicht getan haben, trotz der schrecklichen menschlichen Kosten f\u00fcr sie, sagt uns eine ganze Menge.<\/p>\n

Dar\u00fcber hinaus ist es eine T\u00e4uschung f\u00fcr Christen, zu glauben, dass das Leben im Nahen Osten besser sein w\u00fcrde, wenn die Feinde Israels sich durchsetzen w\u00fcrden. Die Bewegung, die Christen auf den Tod verfolgt, ist nicht der Zionismus; es ist der Islamismus. Der Historiker Philip Jenkins schrieb in\u00a0 Christianity Today\u00a0 im letzten Monat \u201eF\u00fcr Christen im Nahen Osten ist 2014 eine Katastrophe gewesen.\u201c Diese Katastrophe ist nicht durch Israel verursacht worden, wo Israels christliche B\u00fcrger den vollen Segens der Freiheit und Demokratie genie\u00dfen.<\/p>\n

Die Idee, dass Christen im Nahen Osten aufbl\u00fchen w\u00fcrden, wenn Israel schwach w\u00e4re und wenn die t\u00f6dlichen Drohungen nach Israel st\u00e4rker seien, ist ziemlich absurd. Aber dar\u00fcber hinaus ist Israel die Unterst\u00fctzung, die Bewunderung und sogar die Zuneigung von Christen wert, wegen des Urbildes von Nation, die Israel ist:
\ndemokratisch, pluralistisch, selbstkritisch, respektvoll zu den Menschenrechten, Minderheitenrechten und zu anderen Religionen, eine Festung gegen den militanten Islam, hundem\u00fcde wegen Krieg und bereit, au\u00dfergew\u00f6hnliche Opfer f\u00fcr den Frieden zu machen, unvergleichlich mit jeder anderen Nation auf Erden. Gesegnet sind die Friedensstifter, sagte ein ber\u00fchmter Jude vor etlichen Jahren, weil sie die Kinder Gottes genannt werden sollen.<\/p>\n

Israel ist unvollst\u00e4ndig, wie alle Nationen in dieser gefallenen Welt. Aber es reiht sich unter den eindrucksvollsten und ehrw\u00fcrdigsten Nationen auf, die diese gefallene Welt jemals erzeugt hat. Christen, die sich \u00fcber ihre Glaubensgeschwister im Nahen Osten sorgen, die sich \u00fcber die Gerechtigkeit sorgen und die Ungerechtigkeit hassen, m\u00fcssen Glauben mit dem j\u00fcdischen Staat behalten. <\/b><\/span>1. Israel Security Arrests 7 Israel Arabs Establishing IS Cell\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Times of Israel News\u00a0\u00a0 Jan 18th<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/b>Israeli security forces arrested seven Arab citizens of Israel who had sworn allegiance to the Islamic State, were actively planning to join the Salafist jihadi group in Syria and were plotting to carry out attacks in Israel, including against the Arab Druze minority, the Shin Bet said Sunday.\u00a0 The men, all from the Galilee region of Israel, were indicted on Sunday on several counts, including membership in an illegal organization, IS, which was declared illegal in September. The police and Shin Bet conducted the arrests and subsequent interrogations during November and December.\u00a0 The discovery of the cell and the foiling of a plot to acquire weapons and shoot Druze citizens of Israel, who are considered infidels by the adherents of Salafist Sunni Islam, \u201cpoints to a dangerous escalation among Israeli Arabs,\u201d the Shin Bet said.<\/p>\n

The central member of the Galilee cell was identified as Adnan Ala a-Din, a 40-year-old lawyer from Nazareth, who, the Shin Bet charged, presented himself to the other members of the group as a \u201csenior and official IS officer in Palestine.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 A-Din allegedly preached the gospel of Islamist ideology to the other members of the group, advocated strongly in favor of terror attacks against Israeli civilians, and had the members slaughter sheep in order to steel themselves and \u201cprepare their souls\u201d for the rigors of jihad. An Israeli Arab medical doctor, , Musa Abu Kush, who had recently graduated from the Jordan University of Science and Technology\u2019s Faculty of\u00a0 Medicine, was arrested before departing to Syria to fight with the Islamic State.\u00a0 Another alleged central figure was Karim Abu Salah, 22, of Sakhnin, who was arrested in July 2014 at Ben Gurion International Airport on his way to Syria. From prison, the Shin Bet alleged, Abu Salah sought to organize strikes against Israeli military targets and against Druze citizens of Israel. The group would convene regularly for religious lessons, studying under an unnamed religious leader in the north of Israel, and maintaining contacts with Islamic State fighters in Syria\u00a0\u00a0 Please pray that any other potential IS cells will be exposed and arrested

\n2.\u00a0 Increase Security at Jewish Locations in Many Parts of Europe\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Times of Israel\u00a0\u00a0 Jan 17th<\/p>\n

<\/b><\/span>Belgian paratroopers fanned out Saturday to guard possible terror targets across the country, including some buildings within the Jewish quarter of the port city of Antwerp, amid heightened security threat.\u00a0 It was the first time in 30 years that authorities used troops to reinforce police in Belgium\u2019s cities, and came a day after anti-terror raids netted dozens of suspects across Western Europe. Belgium has increased its terror warning to 3, the second-highest, following the anti-terror raids of Thursday which left two suspects dead amid fears they had been planning imminent attacks on police and their offices.\u00a0 French, German, Belgian and Irish police had at least 30 suspects behind bars on Friday and in Brussels, authorities said a dozen searches led to the seizure of four Kalashnikov assault rifles, hand guns and explosives. Several police uniforms were also found, which Belgian authorities said suggested the plotters had intended to masquerade as police officers.\u00a0 The seizures followed an anti-terrorism sweep on Thursday in and around Brussels and the eastern industrial city of Verviers in which two suspects were killed in a firefight and a third wounded. Authorities said the follow-up operation netted several returnees from Islamic holy war in Syria.<\/p>\n

Belgian Justice Minister Koen Geens told VTM network Saturday that \u201cwe hope the worst has been avoided but we need to prepare for the most difficult to come.\u201d
\nSome 150 paratroopers were watching synagogues in Antwerp, the Jewish Museum in Brussels and other selected building across the nations. The figure could be double in the coming days until the situation will be reviewed next week.\u00a0 Britain\u2019s police chiefs, meanwhile, increased patrols at Jewish sites and were studying ways to increase protection of police officers and the Jewish community after the terrorist attacks in Paris.\u00a0 Chief counter-terror officer Mark Rowley said the attack on a kosher supermarket in Paris and anti-Semitic rhetoric from extremists has led to \u201cheightened concern\u201d for the Jewish population in Britain. He said police are meeting with Jewish community leaders to discuss security plans, and are adding extra patrols. Rowley also said the \u201cdeliberate targeting\u201d of police in recent terrorist attacks has raised fears about the safety of serving officers. \n3.\u00a0 IDF On High Alert on Northern Border After Attacking Targets in Syria\u00a0\u00a0 ICEJ News\u00a0\u00a0 Jan 19th<\/p>\n

<\/b><\/span>IDF forces in the north of Israel were on maximum alert Monday as reports emerged that an airstrike in Syrian territory on Sunday targeting high-level members of the Lebanese Shi\u2019ite terror militia Hezbollah, which foreign sources say was carried out by Israel, also killed an Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) General and some of his senior aides. Hezbollah immediately vowed to avenge the attack in which several of its senior operatives, including Jihad Mughniyeh, the son of slain terrorist mastermind Imad Mughniyeh, were confirmed as killed. A Twitter account affiliated with the clerical regime in Teheran also reported that IRGC General Mohamed Allahdadi was „martyred“ by the strike.<\/p>\n

„The Israeli strike killed six Iranian soldiers, including commanders, as well as the six members of Hezbollah. They were all in a convoy of three cars,“ a source in Hezbollah told AFP.<\/i> Meanwhile, the Lebanese Army and UN peacekeepers scrambled on Monday to increase their deployments along the border between Lebanon and Israel in an effort to pre-empt clashes between Hezbollah forces and the IDF. Elsewhere, an aircraft carrying at least 35 soldiers loyal to the regime of Syrian President Bashar Assad crashed with no survivors overnight in the province of Idlib. There were conflicting reports as to whether the aircraft crashed due to bad weather or was shot down by anti-Assad forces.\u00a0\u00a0 Please pray that peace will hold on the borders with Lebanon & Syria<\/p>\n

\nF<\/i><\/span><\/b>oreign Minister Avigdor Liberman and PM Benjamin Netanyahu panned the decision by International Criminal Court\u2019s prosecutor on Friday to open a probe into alleged war crimes committed against Palestinians, including during last summer\u2019s conflict with Hamas, with Liberman calling to dismantle the court. Liberman charged it was a \u201cscandalous decision whose only goal is to try and harm Israel\u2019s right to defend itself against terror.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 He said the decision was \u201csolely motivated by political anti-Israel considerations,\u201d and that Israel would not tolerate it, adding that he would recommend against cooperating with the probe.\u00a0 \u201cIsrael will act in the international sphere to bring about the dismantling of this court which represents hypocrisy and gives impetus to terror,\u201d Liberman continued in a statement released to the press.\u00a0 PM Netanyahu also blasted the decision, accusing the ICC of being \u201cpart of the problem.\u201d\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cIt\u2019s scandalous that mere days after terrorists massacred Jews in France, the ICC prosecutor opens a probe against the Jewish state. And this is because we defend our citizens from Hamas, a terror group that signed a unity pact with the Palestinian Authority and war criminals who fired thousands of rockets at Israeli citizens,\u201d charged the prime minister. \u201cUnfortunately, this makes the court part of the problem and not part of the solution,\u201d he continued.\u00a0\u00a0 PA\u00a0 Foreign Minister Riyad al-Malki welcomed the move.<\/p>\n

The United States on Friday condemned as a \u201ctragic irony\u201d the International Criminal Court\u2019s decision to open a preliminary probe into possible war crimes committed by Israeli forces against Palestinians.\u00a0\u00a0 \u201cWe strongly disagree with the ICC prosecutor\u2019s action today,\u201d State Department spokesman Jeff Rathke said in a statement. \u201cIt is a tragic irony that Israel, which has withstood thousands of terrorist rockets fired at its civilians and its neighborhoods, is now being scrutinized by the ICC.\u201d\u00a0 \u201cAs we have said repeatedly, we do not believe that Palestine is a state and therefore we do not believe that it is eligible to join the ICC,\u201d said the statement.\u00a0 \u201cThe place to resolve the differences between the parties is through direct negotiations, not unilateral actions by either side.\u201d\u00a0 Please pray that the LORD will speak to the ICC and deal with them as He sees fit<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/b>Average Palestinians and those in positions of power again demonstrated their commitment to and desire for peace with Israel by praising and celebrating a brutal terrorist attack in Tel Aviv on Wednesday morning, when a 22-year-old Arab man boarded a public bus and stabbed 17 Jews. The cartoon to the left was published just hours after the attack, and was enthusiastically shared by Palestinians on social media and displayed by local Arab news agencies. The character in the cartoon celebrates the stabbing of 10 \u201cZionists\u201d (the original casualty figure provided by police) next to a sign that reads \u201cOccupied Tel Aviv.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hamas official Izzat al-Rishq took to Twitter to hail the attack as \u201cheroic and daring.\u201d Another Hamas leader, Husam Badran wrote on Facebook that the group \u201cpraises this extraordinary act and calls for more devotion, as well as individual and collective resistance.\u201d\u00a0 It should be noted that Hamas is the ruling authority in Gaza, and is still being courted by \u201cmoderate\u201d Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas in order to form a unity government.\u00a0 Speaking of Abbas, who by mid-morning had failed to condemn the Tel Aviv attack, Israeli Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman said that he and his regime in Ramallah were as much to blame for the bloodshed as anyone.\u00a0\u00a0 Please contine to pray for angelic protection over the citiens of Israel<\/p>\n

<\/span><\/b>Mohammed Deif, the military commander of the Islamist terror militia Hamas, which rules the Gaza Strip, sent a letter on Wednesday to Sheik Hassan Nasrallah, leader of the Lebanese Shi’ite terror militia Hezbollah, declaring that the two groups should join forces against Israel. „All of the forces of resistance must band together and unite against the Zionist enemy and its accomplices,“ Deif reportedly wrote. Meanwhile, the IDF was monitoring what it described as „suspicious activity“ along the border with Lebanon Wednesday evening, even as the US State Department instructed all of its employees to avoid the border region unless on urgent, official business and with permission from the appropriate agencies\u00a0\u00a0 Please pray that the border will remain quiet and the IDF will be alert<\/p>\n

<\/b><\/span>An invitation by the Speaker of the US House of Representatives John Boehner to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to address a joint session of Congress on the subject of Iran has caused another flare-up in diplomatic tensions between Netanyahu and the Administration of US President Barak Obama. A statement by the White House that Netanyahu was acting outside the normal diplomatic protocols by accepting the invitation without consulting them was at least temporarily allayed on Wednesday when Secretary of State John Kerry publically said Netanyahu was welcome to address Americans at „any time.“ Netanyahu’s address to Congress is scheduled for 11 February. Meanwhile, Bloomberg News<\/i> is reporting that there is disagreement between Netanyahu and Israel’s intelligence agencies over the best way to proceed with regards to Iran’s renegade nuclear program.<\/p>\n
